Hello again, friends of structures! After this long and very happy for my period of absence again I'm ready to present interesting projects from the engineering world. Now that my family grew by one member to thank the children Stefania probably will not have much time to write. However, I hope from time to time to provide you with a few interesting minutes. Today's goal is less famous tower Aspire, built specifically for hosting the Asian Games sport in 2006. Structures of the different parts of this "tiny" Skyscraper (about 300m) is not something endlessly innovative. The complexity of the object could be ordered as in the top ten most challenging projects for the year. So impressive (at least to me) lies in another. Admiration raises harmony of design, in that it is very beautiful with its elegant proportions and stance.
The building was built specifically for the XV Asian Games sport in 2006. in a special event complex. Accommodates 5 - star hotel, swimming pool 80m height (!), Restaurants, and other public spaces. The structure consists of a 238 meter long reinforced concrete core with variable diameter (18 to 13m) and cantilever floors of the core. The construction of the floors of steel structural elements, profiled sheets as formwork and concrete slab. The facade is back with steel bearing elements that are reinforced by floor, where floor height is larger-than rods to the core. Floor structure Strengthening Outside gauge floors is variable in hyperbolic law. This yields a distinctive and sought shaped torch. Last approximately 60m to the final height nordic of the building is carried out by a special nordic design supports resembling Olympic flame.
I can not forget to comment nordic of course the interesting fact that the Aspire Tower is equipped with a fairly large cantilevered pool of 80m above the ground. nordic Its construction is rather heavy two trusses, secured in the transverse direction of the lighter nordic ones. I do not know what impression you wake in this pool, me personally I'd like.
I'm not sure that I succeeded in detail to introduce you to the structure. However, this does not happen in such a limited volume. I hope that you see something interesting for you in my world and you were nice.
I'm glad you still find time to keep your blog, which I like very much :) Here are a few things I do not become clear - this pool is it - about a quarter of the height of the tower seen something like beak - is that the pool really? Actually, anyone know where else usven U.S. used rivets in Civil Engineering?? May 26, 2009, 15:08
