Talking about writer, did you know that Michael Ondaatje, author of The English Patient, was born i

Today I drove almost as a rickshaw by Colombo, we Cinnamon Gardens, Arthur C. Clarke's neighborhood riding. hoval Just for fun before hoval I asked the driver to drive past Clarke's house so I could take a photo. Stands a guard entering ^ I must first ask for permission if I want to take a picture. But, he asks, why do not I make an appointment to meet Clarke himself. He meets love people hoval as he has time. He called Clarke's house manager, take my name and my home phone number so I can call next week and maybe an appointment. For Clarke is at the moment, but maybe next week. If I come ten minutes earlier, I could have seen him now, '^ he, but Clarke has just gone out for the day. How cool is that? This school children with their white uniforms made me a beautiful picture of Sri Lanka's independence monument. But when they saw me take them down, chaos! The whole lot stormed my first want to shake my hand (I feel at least very much like a famous actor or a person), so down the line, every man wants handshake. And the next thing they want is conducted. But they literally surround me, this picture was taken with my camera set at its widest angle, and it's all coming so close they stand. Apart from this (expected) candles in one of the temples, there was also an exhibition of vintage cars in the temple! Sri Lanka, unlike India, the birthplace of Buddhism, has always remained Buddhist. Something I associate more with Southeast Asia, it was initially surprising to see it here in the subcontinent. hoval The compulsory snake photo, finally I succumbed. In India closer they also snakes, bears and other animals for photos and you should of course pay for it. This man was my day in Colombo closer to the snake, I was frightened (it's the only thing in the world for which I am afraid, snakes), I just took a picture and gave him money in hand stopped that he should run.
I will only know if I get an appointment hoval the day when I call, which will be next week. I have since been widely heard he likes young men! And I still did not get the houtappels, which is the English name for it? 5:25 PM
Woodapples. Saw it on TV, so it must be true. It's like an apple with a houtskil applesauce inside, so you eat it with a spoon. It's anyway that the girlie did the itinerary offered. 2:31 AM
Talking about writer, did you know that Michael Ondaatje, author of The English Patient, was born in 1943 in Colombo? He also wrote Anil's Ghost set in Sri Lanka (also read his poetry The Cinnamon Pealer dealing with his childhood on the island hoval and Handwriting. And your photo of the shade is quite exceptional. 3:22 PM
Gerda, I did not know Ondaatjie. I have been a big fan of Colombo and Sri Lanka degenerate, it's a wonderful place. And cinnamon is so special here, it's as if the smell is everywhere. 12:01 AM
